Hi Ophelia! I sent my wish to the Wishing Star Fairy. Will she send an e-mail back to me or write me on your website? THANK YOU!!

Ophelia Fey says -- Wishing fairies do not send out (usually that is) any form of written or outer confirmation. We would expect that a person go within, go into their own heart and try to feel what is happening.

Wishing is a two-way street and does take some effort on the part of a person. So practice "tuning in" to your own inner self, your Still Small Voice, or whatever it is that you like you call your own inner power. Which everyone does have. That is where your wishing comes from in the first place, and that is where you will receive the inner knowing of what is going on and what to do. Your inner self will not mislead you. So when you learn to tap into that, you will understand more about your wish. And that is how you will also best learn to connect to us, and to others of the Unseen worlds.

I love fairies!

Hello Ophelia! I visit this magical web almost everyday and I love searching stuff here. Knowing about fairies is another thing; for me, I BELIEVE in fairies and think you guys are the most beautiful creatures ever! I just want to ask you if there is a bad effect or should I say reaction when seeing a fairy? I read that we should be prepared but is the experience scary or something? Hope you reply me! [Ophelia Fey says] - I am happy that you are enjoying this web site! There is no "bad effect" or reaction when seeing the beings of nature. It should not feel scary, but it can be a bit startling at first, because a first Sighting is often quite unexpected. Preparing is excellent; it "sets the stage," so to speak. But you may not See anything during all your preparing - some people are trying too hard and are therefore not relaxed. So sometimes it happens exactly when you are not trying. And that is why it is startling.

Remember, "fairies" are simply beings of nature. I am not speaking here of storybook type fairies. I am talking about the essence of Nature; the intelligence in, and care of Nature. So be prepared that what might manifest itself to you may not necessarily look like tiny little flitting things with butterfly-type wings. Although some may find it fun to try to show themselves that way.

Fairies and Wishes

Dear Ophelia, Can other normal fairies make wishes come true? Or does only the wishing star fairy make wishes come true? thanks xxx

[Ophelia Fey says] - Only certain nature spirits (fairies) work with wishes. It takes a certain understanding of energy, and more importantly, of dealing with mortals and their minds, feelings, and their limited perceptions. Making wishes come true, you see, really lies within You.

That is the difficulty - getting you to understand how that is so. For without your True Wish, without your Burning Desire for the wish (which is quite different than a sort of whimpy wish), without your Belief and your willingness to "stick it out" and hold on to that wish, there is not as much chance for it to come true. Even the wishing star fairies can have a hard time breaking through on some wishes. Fae folk have a difficult time understanding all this about people. Just as you may have an equally difficult time even Believing. So most fae will not even go near human wishing. It is just too confusing. And too much work to deal with.

Blinking Fairy Light

I wished on this site that I would see a fairy and just to make sure, does a fairies light blink? I was wondering because I saw a blinking white light could this be a fairy? Thank You Indeed

[Ophelia Fey says] - Oh yes, a fairy's light can definitely blink, twinkle, fade in and out and such. And is often white. So there is a very good chance that you may have indeed seen one of us.

wish upon a star?

[Ophelia Fey says] Hello again Sydney Hope. All true wishing comes from your heart. Otherwise it is not a true wish. What I mean by that is, its intensity. There are wimpy wishes and true, intense wishes. You probably know the difference. With that in mind, it is your own heart, your own Inner Power that is the catapult that sends out your wishes. So whether you wish on a star or to a fairy is a matter of preference. After all, stars and fairies are all part of nature and interact together. Many stars have nature spirits attached to them. And vice versa. So it would almost be one and the same. The most important thing is your intention and the strength of your desire, belief in your wish, and expectation.

I do not completely know the background history of wishing, except that mortals seems to have always been aware somewhere deep inside of them, that there just has to be more to Life, or the Universe (or whatever you want to call it) than meets the eye. The human eye. And so it is. It seems there has always been an awareness of a higher power, and that somehow you can connect with it. And so you can. In the correct way. And there are many ways. Wishing is but one. Some people do not like to do wishing because they are not comfortable with it. They prefer to pray instead. The bottom line is, you do have a connection to this other power, whichever way you choose to tap into it. And again, wishing is just a way.

Big wish?

Hey Ophelia. :)
So it is my first time making a wish, and I made a big one as well.
What are the chances that it will come true? I have made the same wish before but I kept breaking the tie to my wish so i had to wish again. This is my fourth time wishing for that same wish! This time is much more easier than the last three times and it is going well so far.
do you think it is strong enough to make it through even though I hadn't practiced on smaller wishes? Thanks so much! xox

[Ophelia Fey says] - It would be difficult for me to comment on this. I do not know your wish (and it is proper that you keep it yourself), nor do I know what you have or have not done in the past to break the tie. But I am happy to hear that it is going well for you this time. Remember, if it is a big wish (and good for you for being bold), then it may take time. But if you have a real burning desire for it, will do what it takes as the steps unfold for you of what you should do, and do not give up, keeping it in your mind and heart with Belief, then you are well on your way.

People often ask me if wishing works. Oh yes, indeed, if done correctly. People write to me all the time about their wishes happening, or starting to happen. The biggest keys are making the right wish for yourself (and I have given some guidelines), keeping alert for steps you should take, and keeping your Belief along with Expectation. Why bother to wish something if you do not Expect it to happen! That would be, as you say, a Bummer.

I wish..Using The Wishing Box

When I type my wish into the wishing box, do I have to be very very precise about it? Cause I typed mine in but it wasn't very long, it was sort of generalized. But I know exactly what I want, is that all that matters, or should I next time type more carefully and precisely?

[Ophelia Fey says] -- It is always best to be as clear and precise as you can. A wish comes from your heart, first and foremost of course; so if it is strong in your heart, that is a good start. What you focus on and put your attention on is what you draw to you.

If a wish is really general, then it is a bit wishy-washy, so the outcome may also be wishy-washy. If you know exactly what you want, that is excellent. Type it in with as much detail as you can. (You can certainly re-type your wish). Be sure to follow the guidelines for making wishes.

Then hold that picture with all of its detail in your mind, thinking about it throughout the day as much as you can. Keep it to yourself, and do not let anything upset your belief in your wish. Even if it seems like it is not happening. (That is also why it is important to understand the guidelines for wishing). Yet keep an open mind as to how it might show up -- you never know. See it and act as if you already have it. There is no Time in the world of spirit or the unseen, where all wishes come from in the beginning.

People ask me if wishes ever really come true. I can tell you that I hear from people all the time that their wish did come true. And not always how they thought it would, or when.

I suggest that if you do not feel confident with making a big wish right away, then practice on a smaller one first.

Hi Ophelia!

I'm a little bit confused about my wish. I read your page on Making Wishes. Do I wait and see if my wish will come true?

[Ophelia Fey says] -- Yes, you must wait. With confidence. And you must at all times hold in your mind your wish, and that it is coming true now. In the Present. The human subconscious mind always deals with the Present. And in Spirit, there is no Time. So if you think in terms of your wish maybe happening some day in the future, then you're always just keeping it in the future. And it will have a harder time coming to you. (But not impossible).

It sometimes takes a little practice to get used to wishing. If you first practice with a gigantically important wish, but you don't have the faith and confidence yet to bring it to you, then you may be disappointed. But don't give up. Just keep trying. And do practice on some smaller things as well. As they start happening, you will get more faith and confidence.
