Fae In The City

I live in the city and I want to connect with Fae, but I know it will be harder since I live in an urban area. Is there such a thing as urban fairies? If not, are fae not attracted to cities? Also, I read online that fairies are offended when you call them fairies. Is this true?
Ophelia Fey says -- Yes, Sapphire, there are urban fairies. You are right, though, that it is a little harder to connect with the spirits of nature there, since there is not as much nature to be found. And you are right that we are not particularly attracted to cities. All the noise and tar and cement and pollution and hurry and such. And there is such an overdose of anger.
But if you invite nature spirits to you (you are part of nature, after all), and if you prepare a place by a window, on a patio or balcony, or in the corner of a special room, they will enjoy that. Plants, flowers, light, and something sparkly is also delightful. Perhaps you have read the page on How To Attract Faeries.
Also, consider visiting a park within your city. I'm sure you have at least one. They will be there too, but they may be somewhat tucked away into little areas with fewer people.
I know that fairies have the reputation of being feisty and fussy, and that we dislike many things (like being called fairies). But this is not really true. There are some fae who are what you might call annoying, but they are not the majority. We do not mind that you call us fairies or faeries or fey or fae. They are simply human words and part of your language, and thus mean something to you. In other words, we "get it."
