Fairy Colors

by Ashley
(Iowa)

Is there such a thing as fairy colors? Do fairies come in different colors?

Ophelia Fey says -- Most certainly. Just as nature comes in different colors. And here is a picture of a blue fairy (The Wishing Star Fairy). Fairies spring from nature and take on the traits of the natural world. That includes color.

There are fairies who can change color, and those that stay with one. Certain fairies, like garden fairies, are almost like the chameleon and some of your other camouflage animals. They take on the look and colors of their surroundings. A chameleon, though, is a bit limited in the changes it can do. Not so with some fairies. There are those who are almost unlimited with the look they can change into – if they want to. It could get a bit overwhelming, of course, to be changing color and pattern all the time to match your surroundings. So most fairies prefer a few and stick to those. Some fairies only want one color. Especially if they’re very busy and don’t have the time.

Not all fairies change colors and patterns. Some of us are born into an element, such as fire, with a pretty standard set of fairy colors. (Although in the Kingdom of Faerie we do have fire of many other colors besides your typical orange, yellows, reds, etc.) Fire fairies stay with their particular color. Chocolate fairies (yes, they certainly do exist) are typically browns or vanilla. Then they decorate from there. Fairies of the dawn are limited to those colors. Ice and snow fairies would never be orange or black. They stay with the cool colors of blues, whites, perhaps some silver and gray, maybe a little violet. Other colors can come into play, since ice and snow are crystals and catch light and color.

One of the reasons it’s so hard for humans to see fairies, aside from the fact that most of you have lost your natural ability, is that we’re so good at matching the colors of nature. Plus, we’re energy, and tend to be more transparent and wispy anyway. And also, we mostly inhabit a parallel dimension, the Kingdom of Faerie, which sometimes does and sometimes does not, mesh with the human world. In the blink of an eye we may seem to have disappeared. But we just changed frequency or color, from your dimension to ours. We can still see you perfectly well. You just can’t see us.

And in Faerie, we have colors that do not even exist in your world. Your human eyes are not wired to see them. We could be standing right in front of you, and you wouldn’t be able to see our colors or us at all. Sometimes that is very good.
