Fairy Gifts

by catherine
(loudon tennessee)

Do Fairies like to get gifts from humans? If they do, what would they like?

Ophelia Fey says -- Food. Especially small bits of chocolate. And very small sparkly things. If you spread several tiny beads or glitter on a table, we may take one.

Otherwise, we just like gifts that we can come back and visit. And know they were set up just for us. We'd love a little corner made somewhere cozy where we could come to relax. It could have a plant nearby and a cushy little cushion to sit upon. And something sparkly to look at. We wouldn't take it. I couldn't swear to that though, some just might.

Most fairies tend to sort of take their own little gifts. Things they see in your home or yard that they fancy. They mean to bring them back, of course, as I've explained before. But they do get confused or forget.

And you wouldn't believe the kinds of things humans drop in the grass. Jewelry and shiny coins. Wondrous keys and key chains that are ever so intriguing. All sorts of small baubles. A fairy would then assume it was left just for them, not dreaming it was a lost item. Although I've told them so, and to always put it on the porch or window sill or such, to make sure it can be found. But alas, they do not believe me.

Beds?
by: Ellie

Sorry to bother you again, Miss Ophelia! I have left my Spirit Guide a little bed, does she/he want it? Also, do you even sleep in beds? Sorry to bother you, Ellie

[Ophelia Feys says] - How very thoughtful, Ellie. And no bother at all. Fairies certainly would enjoy a little bed to visit. That is, if they are small, which not all are. As you know. Nature beings do not have the same types of bodies and body systems, so do not really need beds or to sleep... in the same way. We do need to re-energize, to have "down time." So I suppose this is somewhat like sleep. When we do relax, we might just nestle down somewhere comfortable to us. Since nature beings are mimics and like to copy what they see, some have come with all sorts of ideas about fairy "beds." In fact it is so amusing (to me) that I may do a page about it!

Gifting Fairies
by: Kendall

I've been learning SO much about your website! I just have one question. I've been giving tons of things to fairies; notes, chocolate, colorful bracelets, even a clay fairy house! But it's inside my house, and I feel like a fairy hasn't come. (or at least I feel like it). I've been very interested in fairies for a long time, but it's in the middle of winter... I'm 9 years old, And I would be very happy if you answered. Thank you!!! P.S.
Would you come visit me?

[Ophelia Fey says] - Hello, Kendall. I think I need to stress more in this web site, that the main way to attract fairies is by what is in your heart, your mood and behavior, and simply asking them to visit. It is very thoughtful to leave gifts, of course. But not totally necessary. Most of our readers seem to be putting more attention on the outward things, like leaving gifts. And then they are disappointed when they are not taken in just the way they expect them to be.

Nature beings may come and admire them, look at them, try them a little, and then leave them there, for that is what they sometimes do. So do not be too concerned about a lot of gifts. (And it is perfectly fine to have things in your house). Instead, you might focus on a set-up for the fairies... the bracelet and anything sparkling is very nice. But so are indoor plants and flowers. Fairies are, after all, nature beings. Just know that they very definitely could be visiting, even if you do not at this time See them.

Thank you!

Ophelia, thank you so very much for replying to my question and also for posting my story about Mary's faerie drawing (Amiabella Whimsica). I was so very excited to see that you had posted my story and answered my question! Much love and appreciation.

[Ophelia Fey says] - You are very welcome. Your story is a type of fairy gift you know... your little gift to us fairies, very much appreciated.

How may I show appreciation?
by: Jacqueline

Hi Ophelia. Thank you so much for taking your time to give us all of this wonderful information. And thank you so very much for reading this. I have a question comment, I hope that's ok. A few years ago I received a what I believe is a gift from a faerie in the form of a very organic looking stone. That night, I had a dream that several fae (maybe angry?) were trying to get at me, but there was a bubble of protection around me that they could not penetrate. I now feel that this was their way of telling me that the gift they gave me was of protection. I was very thankful and appreciative and amazed at the time, but back then I did not fully understand that dream. Now that I understand I feel such a deep feeling of love and respect for the one who gave me this gift and because of that I would really love to be able to tell her/him how much it really means to me and I would love to have a friendship. Is it too late for this because it was several years ago? I understand that time is different in your realm, so maybe it hasn't been very long for her/him? Is it possible to attract this specific faerie even if I am not at the same location? This means so much to me.
I'm sorry for asking a question in the comment section, but it does have to do with gifts and I am just dying to know! Thank you so much.

[Ophelia Fey says] - I cannot comment on all the different types of dreams that people write in about. The realm of human dreaming is very complex. And symbolic. However, it is quite possible that you have been given extra protection. Many, many readers have mentioned seeing or feeling spheres of light around themselves that feel like protection. You are, after all, energy beings, as is everything that lives. (It is all part of the Unseen that many people do sense and see). Thus these layers of energy can be strengthened. But that is not to say it is necessarily nature spirits (whom you may call fae) who do this. Perhaps, yet perhaps not. The important thing is that it is there. And it just may be a gift. It is never too late to express appreciation. Your simple thoughts of appreciation have already accomplished that.

Thank you Miss Ophelia! : )

Thank you for responding! : )

[Ophelia Fey says] - You are very welcome.

Rose Quartz
by: Nichole

I bought a bird house, that is designed as a castle. I painted it different colors and my sister had painted green vines along the entrance of the birdhouse castle and a big blue flower on the very top of the castle. I sprinkled multiple colors of sparkles/glitter (looks like dust) on various parts of the castle too so that it would shine when light hit on the castle. Anyway, I left different kind of colored stones/gems and one of them was a small Rose Quartz which I'm sure you already know that Rose Quartz is suppose to give off energies of "Love" and/or "Happiness" and my question is, do they fancy such items as "Rose Quartz"? Also, I left out a chocolate chip on the very top of the castle and checked the next day to find it melted (laughs) so I couldn't tell if it had been touched by any entities. Thank you, Ophelia! - Nichole

[Ophelia Fey says] - Hello Nichole. Your castle sound absolutely exquisite. There is no doubt it will be attractive to the beings of nature. And yes, they will love the rose quartz. All things in nature, whether colors or light or plants or rocks, as you know, have a vibration or frequency, as is also known in science. The rose quartz thus has its own. Fae folk can feel the vibrations of nature, just as animals can sense things that humans cannot.

Anyway, just because you may not see with your human eyes any outward sign of nature beings being present, that does not mean they are not there. Try feeling or sensing them with your inner senses first. The more you work with these inner senses, just as with a physical muscle, the stronger they will become.

Nail polish?
by: Allison

If I leave nail polish for a fairy would a fairy take it?

[Ophelia Fey says] - I have never heard of fairies taking nail polish! But you never know. Perhaps they would at least try it a little bit. They would certainly be curious about it. And when they pull the brush out of the bottle, they may very well think it's a type of wand. Nail polish with a bit of shimmer or glitter would be especially attractive.
