Fairy Love
Do Fae Folk fall in love like Humans? Do they express similar emotional and physical needs from their prospective love partner? Does their love run deeper and more profound due to their longevity? I ask this because I am writing a book about a union between an elf woman and a human man.
Ophelia Fey says -- Fae folk definitely fall in love. Our race, as you may know, is formed from energy, and emotions are energy (some have referred to the word as e-motion -- energy in motion). Our emotions are therefore very intense, coming deep from within our being. Happiness and joy, love, even anger too. But we do not have the same type of physical forms like humans. We do have forms, but they are different. And so our coming together in love does involve our forms, but at more of a creative level. A sort of swirl.
We are a race different than yours. And so it is difficult to describe our emotions, love and coming together to you. It would be equally difficult for a mortal to participate in. But not impossible. This would mean either the fae person densifying and changing forms to more closely collaborate with the human, or vice versa.
Since humans have no way of knowing how to do this, it falls upon fae folk to do so. And we hesitate. First of all, not many of us can. It takes longevity, knowledge, and experience in the arts of Transmutation and Transformation. And if we venture from our dimension into yours, these powers would weaken and probably not work. Therefore the human usually enters the realm of Faerie, and would have to remain there for a long enough period of time (and our time is not the same as yours) to absorb our substance. They would have to also consent (and I emphasize consent) to undergo certain changes to their physical being in order to be able to come together with fae.
As you can see, this is highly complicated. And so not often done and often not remembered either -- it's as if it happened in a dream. When the mortal returns to your dimension which is usually the case, this new physicality will slowly re-form itself back to the ways of your world. But something of Faerie may linger forever -- and just what, differs with each. With a memory vague and haunting. And as I said, not impossible.
I cannot go into further detail about our ways here. It would be a breach of our deeper fairies' secrets. But perhaps it is enough for you to weave a lovely story. And it would truly be based on the realm of fae.
I would love to read it when you are finished, if you would be so kind as to send it to me. You can let me know when you are done via our Contact Us section.
