Fairy Ring

by Kelly
(Barrie, Ontraio, Canada)

Last summer, I found my very first fairy ring! It popped up on a path I take every day for work, between two trees. I wasn't sure what to make of it, I didn't even know what it was called then. I was very respect for it though, as it felt sacred. I never walked through it, and would silently observe. Within a week, it was gone again. It was a beautiful experience!

Why would something like this happen? What are fairy rings used for? Thank-you very much!(:

Ophelia Fey says - Hello Kelly. A fairy ring is a strange part of nature. It occurs on at least two levels that I know of - as part of nature's processes; but also at a deeper level, where nature spirits dwell and work along with the processes. So fairy rings are the result of these two kinds of activities working together. Some rings can be about the length of a hand across, but some can be quite large. Or even two rings within each other.

If you come upon a fairy ring, that is a good indication you are at a place where our two dimensions more easily meet (at some times). Nature spirits often use the circle in ceremonies and festivities. It is a symbol to us, but also a way in which we organize ourselves. When we gather in particular places, and there are particular characteristics present in the environment there as well, then the energy we generate combines with what is there, and such a ring can occur.

I am actually going to be writing a separate page about this at some point. Soon, I hope. This has been asked about before. And I know that they are quite fascinating to see
