Fairy School

Ophelia,
Do fairies receive training? Who was your mentor? What is the greatest lesson you learned?
Ophelia Fey says -- We do have fairy school. If a fairy chooses to specialize in something other than normal activities such as growing blades of grass, gathering dew, or frolicking, then yes, we do receive training. And most of us do.
One day when I wandered through the Veil back in, oh about the 1700s, your time. I saw an artist at work, and I wanted to study making art too. So I apprenticed myself to a fairy artist (my mentor) and learned her art (the fairy way with an art wand). I studied that for about 50 years or so.
I learned to be persistent and thorough, and to always do my best. And most of all, to do what you love to do. Then you will be happy. I’ve noticed that mortals for some reason do not believe that they can succeed. It’s very puzzling. Of course they can. You just must believe in yourself.
In the arts in fairy school, we had to study the patterns in nature, especially the Golden Ratio, which governs proportion in nature. Such as the patterns of the veins in leaves, the branching of veins and nerves from the skeletons in animals, the geometry of crystals, the spiral of sea shells such as the nautilus, the human body, and so forth. Your own Leonardo a Vinci called it the Divine Proportion. It’s everywhere.
When fairies learn the arts and sciences, we’re very thorough. But we don’t have to study books like humans (although we do have certain ancient scrolls). We don’t have to memorize. We simply absorb and practice. All of our learning is practical, so not boring. Big difference. Mortals would probably love learning a lot more if they could do the same thing.
Eventually you’ll figure out that you’re way more capable, even right now, of what you’re doing. You are all capable of becoming geniuses. There are even programs out there to teach you. And life will be so much funner! (Fairies are always for fun).
