Helping Fairies

by Ava
(Kansas City)

How can I help the fairies?

Ophelia Fey says - Ava, thank you very much for asking, and for showing concern. Since we are beings of nature, the best way you can help us is to help nature. Take care of your world and, of course, each other, since you are also a big part of nature! Bring harmony to your earth. Keep it clean. And practice love, even in small ways. Whatever you put out, will return to you one day. And it may have snowballed as well, returning bigger and greater.

If everyone just started small, doing the little things like cleaning up litter, recycling, using more natural products, planting a little something (even in a pot), these would make a big difference. If everyone did just a little, multiplied by millions, the change would be great.

I once heard a very wise man of your world say that he would rather be Kind than Right. This is the way of the good nature spirits as well. If only people could put aside all the arguing. Focus on what you all have in common and what you all can do to help out.

Helping Faeries
by: Alison

Ophelia, I do try to be really careful when doing so. I was somewhat off balance when I slipped because I was on some rocks when doing the fishing. I do use common sense when trying to figure out how to best fish or retrieve the targeted litter. I was waiting for a bus when doing this so I might have been slightly distracted. I will actually do this again in the morning. I get a lot of questions and strange looks from other people when seen doing this. The way I do my litter fishing, does this seem foolhardy?

[Ophelia Fey says] - Only you can assess the situation and know if it is truly safe, perhaps with some feedback from others. For instance, how deep is the water, if you were to fall? Would there be anyone near to help you? There are many factors to consider, so it is not my place to comment on all of the specifics, since I am not there.

I like to fish litter out of creeks and small streams. I once fished out a metal pole and I managed to bend it so I could properly put it in the trash can. I also recently collected broken glass that was in a stream. The glass was of broken wine or whiskey bottles. I was doing it with my bare hands. The water was freezing and the temperature outside was fifty degrees. I was not cut by the glass even when I slipped as I collected it. I was no worse for wear after I was done and my hands were frozen. Am I being watched over and helped by faeries when I do this?

[Ophelia Fey says] - Thank you very much for helping so much, Alison. And yes, there are guides, perhaps nature beings, who watch over you. But they do want you to be very careful and use a great amount of common sense, otherwise their protecting can be far more difficult. So do be cautious when helping.
