How Can I Attract Fairies To My House?

by Olivia
(UK)

I am 6 years old and I would love to meet a fairy. Can you tell me what they like and if there is anything I can do that might attract them to my house and garden. How can I ask them to be my friend? My mummy has helped me type this out, and she said we can try to attract them as we love them. Do you think they like chocolate? love from Olivia x

Ophelia Fey says -- Hello Olivia. I have written a few pages about how to attract fairies, and how to see fairies, and what they are like. I hope you will get a chance to read them. It tells you many things you can do.

And yes, we do love chocolate! But we will usually eat only a few crumbs. Loving fairies is a very big step to attracting them, since they will feel your feelings. Feelings are like a magnet. You can simply ask them to be your friend. They will hear you. You do not have to do anything very fancy (unless you want to -- and we will appreciate it).

Don't worry if you don't actually see them at first. You will probably be able to feel that they are there. They will especially like to be outdoors. But they'll probably like your kitchen too!

Fairies and Clutter.
by: Marin

Reading on other sites and trying to gather different information on fairies I came across many posts saying that they don't like clutter, and will more than likely not visit your home if it's cluttered. My house is very cluttered though, since I have 2 babies and I can't always keep up with the messes that get made.

My question is, if I were to invite fairies anyway by leaving little treats for them, would they still visit and maybe even help me get some of this clutter sorted? Since I am trying my best, but I can only do so much by myself. Thank you for your time and answer.

[Ophelia Fey says] - Hello Marin, oh how I love babies! And most nature beings do! First of all, about clutter. There is clutter, and then there is Clutter. What I mean to say is, the Clutter I am talking about is a vibe of something disgusting. Or not. Of course there is clutter when there are babies around! But it is more of a delightful type of clutter, rather than something terribly disgusting and filthy about the overall situation.

You do not need to try to attract fae by leaving treats. Your babies are already attracting them on your behalf. Dirty diapers, clutter and all. Fae will already know you are doing your best. They will Feel your overall inner Self - and that is what is the very topmost important thing about attracting fairies. They might also Feel if a person is cluttery because they are overall lazy and cluttered in their consciousness. Or if they are sincere, trying hard, working hard, and doing their best. Just as you are.

So about inviting them in - whereas they will not help you actually physically clean things up, you may find that Somehow, things just seem to be a little bit easier.

Is there such thing as weed fairies?
by: Jessie

I am 9 years old and I love the world of fairies. I've only got a small garden at home and not many plants grow except the usual weeds. Is there such thing as a dandelion fairy? I'm scared there is as my mum loves pulling out the weeds. Thank you, Jessie

[Ophelia Fey says] Hello Jessie. Remember, the concept of "weeds" is one made up by mortals. In ancient times for instance, weeds were just another part of nature and not seen as a bother as much as they are today.

Nature beings who are in gardens are quite used to the idea of mortals not liking weeds. Although we care for all plants and life, including dandelions (which are great in salads and make excellent wine, by the way -- if not sprayed with pesticides). Anyway, any fae who would be near your garden would probably be used to your ways. And although they might be a bit sad to see a plant pulled up, they would somewhat understand.

Will fairies still like me?
by: Anonymous

Hello Ophelia Fey. I have always believed in fairies but I am afraid fairies may not like me. I am trying to attract fairies. But I am afraid the won't come to my garden because I smashed some toadstools before. I've learned some toadstools are the meeting and dancing places for fairies. And I'm afraid the might not like me because of that. What do you think?

[Ophelia Fey says] - The main word I keep seeing in your message is "afraid." Fairies liking you has nothing to do with your smashing toadstools. In stories they are said to be meeting places, but fae do not necessarily need toadstools to meet.

Attracting fairies first and foremost has everything to do with what is inside of you, and how you usually Are. If you have a lot of fear in you, they will feel that and may not want to be around. If you try to practice kindness, generosity, helpfulness, etc. (no matter what anyone else is doing or seems to be doing to you), then that is what will be in your "aura," as mortals sometimes call it. This is, of course, not always easy. It is sometimes easier to slack off and be like everyone else. Everyone must choose how they are going to Be. And the Being and Doing of it can eventually change everything for you. It can change your Life.

Do fairies come at night?
by: Kimberly

Hi, Ophelia Fey. This website is very helpful. I would really love to see a fairy but I was wondering if it's possible that fairies can come into my room at night when I sleep. I am planning to put some jewels and a note for the fairies next to my window, and I was wondering if they can come into my room. Can fairies come into my room when my door and windows are closed? I have heard from you that fairies like shiny things and sweet natural things. What is the fairy feel like? My teacher once told me about the energy around humans and you can see the colour of your aura, is this anything to do with the fairy feel?

[Ophelia Fey says] - Your teacher is quite correct about the energy around humans and colors in the aura. All things have an aura - it is simply the electromagnetic field around them. And that is very much like the energy of the Unseen world of which nature beings are formed. Very light and airy, almost unable to be felt except as a breeze or wisp of something-ness. So yes, to some, fairies would appear in a similar way as an aura. Since we are not made of the same type of physical matter as the material world (except for those who may take on a denser form from time to time), we are not limited by physical boundaries in the same way. Such as doors and windows. So yes, some fae do pass through and some do not. It depends on whether they are accustomed to such things, such types of barriers. Some may not bother to try. But I am assuming they are somewhat used to your environment if they are interacting with your physical world by visiting you.

Frozen Flowers
by: Hayden Emily

I live in a cold climate and I am worried that the cold weather is why I only see fairies in other places. I can see them at my bedstemors (grandmother's) house, but here I cannot. I am lonely at home because they aren't here. Is there anyway I can attract them even in the snow? - Hayden Emily

[Ophelia Fey says] -- Hello Hayden. You can indeed attract fairies in any kind of climate. I have made two pages about snow type fairies - called: Wondrous Winter Fairies, and Spectacular Snow Fairies. I've also answered several other questions. You can find these here on this web site to read.

Memories
by: Cynthia

I know you can attract fairies through a garden. My great grandmother, who is still alive but quite old and fragile, used to have a garden with the exact things to attract a fairy. All of the roses had a shiny dangling object, a fountain type thing, a bird house, and many other things, which I didn't know why she had them. I was very young but I asked her once why she worked so hard to keep her garden. She said because she liked very much to care for nature.

She also said that sometimes even special beings would come and take care of the flowers. Is it possible that my great grandma had many fairy friends? Maybe I was touched by magic too as a kid. I always wandered alone into nature, backyards, front yards, beautiful areas, when I was very young. Please help me. Sometimes I feel like I don't belong. Is it possible I belong to your world instead? Please help me. Your intuition would be very important to me.

[Ophelia Fey says] - Hello Cynthia. It is quite possible that your great-grandmother did indeed have beings of nature that visited her garden. Could you ask her? She may have even seen them and can describe them to you. If you spent any time in her garden, yes it is quite possible that you could have, at some time, been touched by the energy of such beings.

I do understand about how you feel about not Belonging. I have had many, many people write about this. So I will comment on it here...
There is a part of you that is non-physical, as you may know. Some call it your soul, your Spirit, whatever. The word does not matter. Just try to get the sense of it. This part of you is very capable of sensing and experiencing the non-physical, since that is what it also is.

Some mortals are very connected to this part of themselves, maybe not fully realizing it. They just get a sense for things; have a feeling there is much more Out There, more to Life than meets the eye (which is correct of course). Yet at this time in your world, most societies emphasize the intellectual and reasoning faculties of your being. Which have their limitations.

And so those mortals who are more highly sensitized feel different; that they do not belong here. You are different, and are meant to be. Everyone is, but many prefer to stuff it away and be Safe. But sameness is horribly boring. Do know that there are many who feel the same way you do. I cannot say where you "came from." Even if I could say, I cannot say. But you are now here, and so you therefore do belong here. With a purpose. You must find a way to integrate the reasoning and intuitive parts of yourself into this world. Both are there for a reason. It is not meant to be just one or the other. But it is important to keep all in balance.

And if you feel there are some who do not understand you, you are not required to overly share, you know. Some things are very personal, and should be kept so. And probably no one is truly, fully understood by others.

How can I get a fairy guardian?
by: Elena

Hello Ophelia, I have been watching an anime ( a type of Japanese cartoon that some humans love) called "Shugo Chara."
Translation: Fairy Guardian.
I have always believed in fairies and way before I saw this anime. I really wanted to have a fairy guardian or companion. I have a garden and everything but the thing is my parents would be wondering what I'm doing, and this is a secret isn't it? I just really want to know how to get a fairy guardian and once I find that destined fey guardian, I would tell my parents (if the fey insists that I should). Please help and please respond back!

[Ophelia Fey says] - You may already have a fey guardian but just do not realize it yet. Or else you can simply Ask. You must practice feeling the presence of nature spirits first. Then you will get a feeling whether or not a guardian is present. Guardians are a personal matter and do not need to be shared with others. But I cannot advise you what you may or may not do within your own family. That is up to you. A guardian most likely would never "insist" that you do or do not do something, such as tell another person about them. Whether or not to do so would be up to your own intuition.

Did i see one also?
by: Sarah

A few times I have seen little spots, only when I imagine them at first, like wanting to see them. And also, on April 2nd 2011, I had little flashes of brownish pictures, first looked like a tree with stuff in it, and then it was a similar picture but I didn't see it well, then maybe if I saw a third time or not. And today I saw 3 flashes above me. Were those fairies? And were the flashes trying to communicate with me?

[Ophelia Fey says] - It is difficult for me to know just what you are describing. People do see flashes of light from time to time. Sometime it has to do with one's eyesight, but sometimes it is indeed a glimpse of fairies. Since you have had so many different sightings and in so many different ways, I would say there is a very good chance that Someone is trying to get your attention! And if so, yes they may have been trying to communicate with you. At least to let you know that they are there.

The smell of baking in the air
by: Michelle

Hi! I'm Michelle, and I am currently 13. I love fairies. My question is, sometimes in the morning it smells like baking near my house or a block away. I noticed in one of the last comments it says that Fairies like the smell of baking. Does that mean they're the cause of the air to smell that way?

[Ophelia Fey says] - Hello Michelle. Fairies are most likely not the cause of the baking. I have noticed in the mortal realm that the smell of baking and cooking can travel for blocks, (especially if there is a bakery or a factory for such things in the area). But I can say that such aromas would be quite appealing to fae folk and would attract them - at least out of curiosity!

Fairy Chants?
by: jennifer

I would like to know how to attract fairies to my house. I know that you like sweet things. The problem is that I have tried all the chants to get fairies, but none of them work. I would love it if you could give me a chant to say. Where, when, and what place. I would also like to meet you. I live in Kildare, Ireland.

[Ophelia Fey says] - The reason your chants (where ever you got them from) did not work, is because they usually do not. A person must first learn feel correctly and to see beyond their human eyes. To do that, you (usually) must inwardly be in the right frame of mind, mood, etc., as I have mentioned in other pages. Otherwise, no outer activity, be it a chant, a "spell," a crystal, or doo-dads and what-nots, can help you. It all starts within yourself.

I'm not saying that there is absolutely no one who can ever call on a fairy by a chant. But that person would also have the right inner harmony and specifically know what they were doing. That is why I do not give out so-called chants and spells. People are usually disappointed.

It may take time to attract fairies, and especially to see them. And it takes patience. And also, we actually could be there already, and you just are not quite able to see us, as of yet.

Did I see one?
by: Allison

I was in my bed one night and in the corner of my eye I saw a little shadow figure about as big as my small finger. When I saw it, it flew away. Was it a fairy?

[Ophelia Fey says] - I have heard very similar descriptions many times, and sometimes they are indeed fairies. But it is hard for me to tell for certain, since I was not there. But this may be a very good start in beginning to see beyond your senses.

Chocolate For Fairies
by: Anonymous

So if I put out chocolate right now, the fairies would probably come?

[Ophelia Fey says] - Yes, they might. Most fairies do love chocolate. Even the aroma of chocolate can attract us. That is one reason why we love to smell baking in a kitchen. We are sensitive to aromas. Keep in mind that we may just take a crumb or a small lick. Do not be disappointed if you do not at first see us with your human eyes. As you know, human eyesight does not see all. Far from it. So stay alert for little hints that we have been there.

Do fairies live in Australia?
by: Emerald

Hi Ophelia,
My name is Emerald, I am 12, and I live in Australia. I was wondering if fairies live in Australia. I hope so because I LOVE FAIRIES. Thanks, Emerald.

[Ophelia Fey says] -- Hello Emerald. Yes, fairies definitely do live in Australia. They live all over the world. You will find them in gardens, forests and woods, as well as by the ocean, streams and rivers. Also near caves and rock formations, especially if there happens to be a spring or waterfall. There are not as many in desert and dry areas, but if you live there, you can make a little garden for them, even in your home. To learn more, just read my pages on How To Attract Faeries, and How To See Fairies.

Fairy visits.
by: Sophie

Hello Ophelia.
I am nine years old and I would like to know how to attract faeries to my room since I don't have a garden.
I find it a bit hard since I don't have a garden to attract faeries, how do you think I should attract them to my room?
I had a few encounters with faeries, but I haven't seen one and I would really like to become friends with one.
I have seen flashes and sometimes figures.
Sometimes I leave out some chocolate and invite them into my room but they don't come. Am I doing something wrong?
My room is quite big. On my window sill I put some shiny rocks and in the middle is a vase of roses, but not real roses.
Next to my bed is a little table where my night light is.
What could I do to attract them into my room?
Thank you Ophelia xoxo

[Ophelia Fey says] -- Hello Sophie. All of the things you are doing are very lovely and just perfect. And you do not need a garden to attract fairies to you. That is only one way. They will especially know, because they will feel it from your heart, that you want them to visit you.

And actually, it is highly probable that nature beings are already visiting. You are just not seeing them with your physical eyes. So try to simply feel their presence. Remember, the spirits of nature do not necessarily look like little tiny humans with wings. That is where people get confused because it is in your stories. Think of them as lovely beings that blend with nature and take care of it. Then just relax and see what happens.
