How Long Does A Fairy Live

by Rob
(Arizona)

How long does a fairy live?

Ophelia says -- That all depends on their size and their mission. Some very tiny fairies that are in charge of one blade of grass only live for a season, much like a butterfly does. But these little ones are such a delight. We love every one. They could, in actuality, live longer. If they chose to. They always have the option of going into training to learn something more expansive. But many simply are not interested. They are little and do not have the attention span. Once in a while, though, there is one that does take flight to greener pastures, so to speak, and is immediately taken under the wing of a more advanced fairy.

Other fairies are larger and develop power very quickly, as it is their destiny and purpose. And they live longer, for centuries. Certain fire fairies and water fairies are among them. Those who become fairy godmothers also. And if a fairy becomes a king or queen or manages a large area, needless to say they will be busy for quite a long time.

If a fairy chooses to keep expanding his or her consciousness and learning, they will keep expanding their life span. So some live to be very old -- centuries in mortal time. Even a thousand years or more. This all does take effort. And at some point, one does get a bit worn out. Then it's time to let go of the form and go back to the Source.

Fairies don't "die" in the mortal sense of the word. They flicker out when their time is done. They usually know when the time has come, and there are lovely good-byes and many thanks.

A sudden trauma could also cause a fairy to flicker out unexpectedly. Getting trapped the wrong way in the mortal world of form could do it. (That's why fairies are so cautious). As could a particularly horrible creature from the realm of Faerie, should a fairy happen to foolishly confront one. Yes, these creatures can be avoided.

So, in part, the length of a fairy's life can be somewhat up to the fairy. And usually, so can the time of departing.
