How to Believe

I truly want to believe in faeries but I am a little big for this kind of stuff. My heart wants to believe but my mind doesn't. How should I convince my mind to believe too?
Ophelia Fey says - Chris you are never "too big for this kind of stuff." Many, many of my readers are adults, as is Mary, and as was her mother. And grandmother. I get messages and questions from people all over the world, as you can see from these Ask A Fairy questions. And they are of all ages.
The only way to get around the human mind is to get around it, or re-train it. It is almost impossible to convince the mind of anything. It will believe whatever it believes, or whatever you allow it to believe.
Everybody has a constant stream of mind chatter (and sometimes fairies do too). It sounds like a hundred different voices in your head? And you're wondering if any of them are really You? They usually aren't. It's all part of the human programming, and it's just the way it is. Unfortunately, most people take all of this chatter waaaay too seriously, instead of for what it is. You have to learn to just let most of it go right through you and ignore it. If you keep doing that, it eventually will tone down. You have to learn to live by your heart. And that can be hard.
There are reasons why you just can't believe, and there is nothing wrong with that. It just is. But often it's largely because of one's upbringing and where you live, and what you've been around most of the time. Lots of reasons.
Pay attention to what your heart is telling you. And keep in mind that it is not necessary nor even important to believe in fairies (and I am very up front about saying that). It just simply is not for everyone, and we do not care. For some it would be an enormous confusion and distraction for What They Are Suppose To Do In Life. People are meant to believe various things for various reasons, and no one should judge another. Everyone is down here for a Purpose, as you know. And it is important to figure that out and stay focused on it. But only you can figure it out.
