Is The Tooth Fairy Real?

Is the tooth fairy real? I am asked this all the time.
In the beginning the tooth fairy was just a legend. In fact, children in some countries believed their teeth would be retrieved by a little mouse. Or wished their baby tooth (that just fell out) would be replaced with a mouse’s tooth – very strong and always growing. Some children threw their teeth out the window. Or onto the roof. Sometimes they throw it up, sometimes down. Others hid their tooth under their pillow. They wished for coins or a little gift. Certain types of fairies like to watch and help humans, especially children, and all of this tooth business became very confusing to keep straight. Real fairies, always curious, became fascinated by this practice. Some of us wanted to serve as tooth fairies for the children. We are mimics, after all, and like to copy what we like. We listened very carefully to what they expected us to do. And then we invented new ideas of our own. And so the real tooth fairy began. We may give you a coin, it is true. Or we may make you a magical tooth, that when it grows, will never get cavities. We may give you a blessing that you will always have enough good food to eat. We may give you a blessing of good fortune for your life – why give one coin. It all depends on the fairy and the child (good begets more good). So if a child does not find a coin under the pillow in the morning, he or she must not assume that the tooth fairy did not visit. (You may even be tempted to wonder, is the tooth fairy real. Or do fairies exist.) But remember, there may be a blessing in disguise awaiting instead. You may not see it with your mortal eyes, but it could be far more important than money. And what do we do with the teeth we collect? We take them deep into a chamber of a special crystal cave and lay them in an ivory and golden bowl. With a tap of our wand, the tooth becomes powderized into hundreds of sparkles. These sparkles are then taken back to the child and placed in his or her mouth. Made from their own teeth and also infused with powerful fairy dust, they will help the new tooth to grow strong. But remember, fairy magic can fade once it has been loosed into the mortal realm. Take care to care for your teeth and do all that you can for them and for what has been given to you. This will preserve the gifts you have been blessed with. Be sure to visit this page for your
