Losing Favour with Faeries

Is it possible to lose favour with faeries? If so, what activities should I avoid doing so I don't agitate the faeries?

Ophelia says -- Oh my yes. You can certainly lose favour with faeries. The question is, which ones. You will either have the favour of the good faeries or the bad, but not both. I presume you mean the good.

Faeries do become insulted, and little faeries who are new, more easily so. Especially if they are not used to you. You will find them doing the tiniest things in your gardens, like splashing in dew or caring for a lady bug. If you carelessly kick or stomp upon a bug on purpose and they see you, they will be horrified and flee.

If you use toxic pesticides in your garden they will remove themselves until the rain has washed it away. But by then they may have moved to a better garden and won't come back. If you must fertilize and spray, it's best to use natural substances if you want to keep the favour of faeries.

In your kitchen, faeries do not like the smell of garbage or burnt food. Air it out immediately and spray something fresh smelling. Natural, if possible. Faeries tend to be tidy, so keep your kitchens clean. It is true, if they like you they may try to clean for you. But mostly they're looking for delicious crumbs or goodies left out. (And that is one way to appease them -- with a treat).

And on your dressing table or in your jewelry box, if you are missing a sparkly earring, never accuse a faerie of taking it, even if she did. You're not suppose to know that, and she will be embarrassed if suspected. After all, she is simply borrowing. And will therefore pout and fuss. You will lose favour and she will most likely be so upset she will forget to return it. Or let you find it.

Good faeries also wince at foul language. They are gentle beings and refined. They would never dream of cursing. That is what evil faeries do. They may not leave if they hear you, but they will cover their ears and hum very loudly. You may hear them. They also abhor arguing and fighting. Faeries admire harmony in nature and amongst other beings, including you.

Bolder faeries may cause something to fall in order to get your attention. Then simply apologize and try not to do it again in their presence. That is, if you want them around.

Spring Duties For Fairies

Hello Ohphelia! :) It's Morgan again. I want to say thank you! Your a great help. So, would it take them long time to do these Spring things? The last time I heard from them was in early March, and it is May. What would they do? Would they make the flowers grow and things? The fairies here love my gifts and always take them, one of the fairies: Dewdrop sprinkled Fairy Dust! By the way, do you fairies use it for special reasons? They are also VERY smart! They see me playing with my baby cousins, and know who they are.They even knew that my youngest baby cousin, Bodhi was on his way! Isn't that sweet? :) Also, since it is very hot out, it is hard for me to go in the woods to talk to them. I feel very bad. It's because the tics are out. And when the wind blows they can fall on you and maybe give you a disease! I love butterflies and different insects it's just that tics can spread a disease! Do you think they will understand? [Ophelia Fey says] - Morgan, there is no way to predict or know how "long" it takes nature spirits to do their work during the spring season or any season - they simply do it. We do not keep track of time. We work with all facets of nature during the seasons. Although we do not "make" things grow, we definitely work with the natural cycles and even may enhance it when possible. I cannot say why they may come and go from your area, why they may or may not pay attention to your gifts, etc.

Nature spirits are of a different nature and do what they do when they do it, and may not really pay that much attention to people and their expectations. They live in their own world. And they may see you as someone who has ventured into theirs. Just as the animals of a forest may consider you to have come into their territory. And yes, they might understand about tics and disease (which we do not experience, or course). That is, if they are familiar with your ways. Otherwise, they may not be paying attention to such things at all.

Fairy Cleanup

Hi Ophelia! I'm Morgan. Fairies live here at my grandmothers house. I've been connecting with them and they're my magical fairy friends! :) They wrote me a note saying that they are busy cleaning up from Winter (Because they were snowed in). And the weather is really nice! And they still haven't been replying! I'm very worried. Please, what do you think? Are they just busy? But, I went out on our porch today, and smelled a really flowery smell. Maybe it was the fairies! Also, I drew them a picture of Fairyland (what I think it looks like). And tied it to a tree, and a few days later, it was gone!! Are they sending me messages through nature? Thank you so much! Morgan

[Ophelia Fey says] - Hello Morgan. You may know that many nature spirits are a bit flighty and lively and do not stay for long in one spot. Nor do they necessarily understand the importance of responding to human notes. They may or they may not (if they can even read your language). Many people think that when they put out physical human things such as food and notes and gifts, that if the nature spirits (like fairies) do not take them, that must mean they are not there, or that they've lost favor with fae folk. That may not be the case at all. Fairies would definitely notice, but just might not be interested in taking them. Especially if they are on the move to here and there.

Certain nature spirits would be present for certain seasons, and others may simply leave or withdraw at that time. And they are not necessarily like birds where they come back to the same garden or place every single year. Although some might. But others may pass through instead. And yes, they would most likely be very busy, especially in spring, growing cycles, or any change of season.

Nature spirits definitely do send "messages" through nature. It is, in fact, almost like one big Message, if you know how to interpret it! The best way to know nature and its spirits is to Feel it with your heart and soul. I have explained that before on other pages ...and perhaps you have read them.

Fairy Sizes

Hi Ophelia, are you a tiny fairy? What fairy friends do you have? Is is true that you have a different type of time than we do? Please explain that to me. Thank you! Morgan

[Ophelia Fey says] -- I am not a tiny fairy, although I could make myself quite small if need be. I am typically about 4 feet high, give or take, depending on my mood and what I am doing. Size does not really matter and can be changed quite easily by most fae. I have fairy friends of all types, from all the various elements. Hundreds of friends, as do most fae.

And yes, we do have different Time. It is rather easy to lose track of it, since we don't really track it like mortals do. Yet we can monitor time due to our relationship with your dimension. Time and Space are phenomena that the human mind has a very difficult time comprehending.

For instance, your scientist, Albert Einstein, concluded that the past, present, and future all exist simultaneously. He also knew it speeds up or slows down depending on how fast one thing is moving relative to something else. He wrote: "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once." He also wrote: "Since there exists in this four dimensional structure [space-time] no longer any sections which represent "now" objectively, the concepts of happening and becoming are indeed not completely suspended, but yet complicated. It appears therefore more natural to think of physical reality as a four dimensional existence, instead of, as hitherto, the evolution of a three dimensional existence."

Although this may be difficult for mortals to figure out, it is quite clear to us. Notice he mentioned... so everything doesn't happen at once. He was aware of what is referred to as "the eternal now," which is a good way to describe Time in our realm.

Hi Ophelia:) Thank you for reviving my note. Are there fairies that are all different? Because the fairies here write tiny. And in a couple of notes I got years ago their writing was small! What do fairies do in winter? -- Morgan:-)

[Ophelia Fey says] -- Hello Morgan. Yes, all fairies are different, just as people are different. A very small fairy may indeed write very tiny. But not necessarily. Size here does not limit us. Small fairies still do have immense powers oftentimes, and can therefore do immense things.

I did answer the question already about what fairies do in winter. Perhaps you would like to search the Ask A Fairy section, and you will find it. Basically, it depends on the type of fairy and what element they are from.

I left notes out for the faries here. They LOVE me. They told me so on the note I RECIEVED! Winter is near and they are busy gathering nuts and berries. And they usually reply in a week or so. But, it's been 2 days after a week So, it's Tuesday today! Do you think I did anything to make them angry? They always told me I'm as sweet as honeysuckle! :) I always talk to them EVERYDAY when I come home from school. Do they still love me? - Morgan :)

Ophelia Fey says -- Morgan, I do not know why you have not received an answer from them this time. But it is doubtful that you've done anything to offend the fairies. It would take something obvious for you to offend them, and you'd probably know it yourself, if you'd done something "wrong." If they were indeed fairies that visited you, I'm sure they will eventually be back. Remember, we do not live in Time the same way you do, so a week or two to you is not at all the same to us. Patience is always needed with fairies.

Fire Poker Fell

I was outside smoking (I Know Bad)and the poker I just spiked in the middle of the firepit (so my kids dont get it & get hurt with it) as I was smoking it fell hitting the stone making a loud noise scarring me to death since it was after midnight. I said outloud that was not nice?? OOPS

[Ophelia Fey's Note] -- Very interesting! Your unseen friends were indeed trying to catch your attention and help you (they thought they were being nice!) And not just about the fire poker. They would truly like to to quit smoking. For their sakes, too!
