Pixie Dust

by Sergio
(Montreal, Quebec Canada)

What is Pixie dust?

Ophelia Fey says -- Pixie dust is often confused by humans with fairy dust (as pictured here). They are similar and can be understood by first understanding what a pixie is.

Pixies are a kind of fairy, very small in stature, and usually of earthy color. They are often full of fun, and because they're small, like to throw around a lot of pixie dust to create the illusion of magical skill and power; a sort of "shock and awe" effect you might say. If you fall for it, you can be quite impressed.

But pixie dust is really just the standard fairy dust. It's made from a variety of substances, such as basic stardust that can be found abundantly in the Kingdom of Faerie, from powderized crystals, ground dragon tooth, etc. Pixies tend to infuse their dust with an extreme amount of sparkle, for extra effect. Not that it really does anything extra.

In reality, pixie and fairy dust is a prop. Once a fairy has really mastered their skill, they don't need a wand or dust to accomplish what they set their mind to. It's a matter of mind over matter, you see. Some day mortals will understand more about this as well. (Your science of quantum physics is just beginning to unveil the mystery. Or what you perceive as being a mystery).

Anyway, pixie dust is used mostly for fun and not to be taken too seriously. If you happen to get some in your nose and eyes, it will cause you to sneeze and itch. If you breathe it in, it will cause you to feel dizzy because it very much clears your head. And the side effect of that, of course, is that you may be able to see pixies and fairies.

So do try it.

Can it cause you to fly? I've never personally seen that happen. But ask Tinkerbell.

Fairy Godmothers
by: janaia

What did you mean when you said you must ask a fairy godmother in order for them to be your mentor? And when you have done all of that, does the fairy godmother show up to where she can see you, or she's there but you just have to believe? Thank you for listening, Janaia

[Ophelia Fey says] - Hello Janaia. A fairy godmother would never interfere with the free will of someone. It is not allowed. They would never presume to think that a particular person wanted them around. Therefore, you must ask. And as usual, whether you believe in anything or anyone or not, has nothing to do whether they (or it) are really there. After all, microwaves and radio waves have been there forever, but only until recently did people "believe" in them. And discover them. It is the same with anything in the Unseen world. It exists despite you. Believing, though, can make a connection to you and the Unseen world, and thus you may get better results. Like being able to See. But this depends on each person. You can read the many things I have already written about these subjects.

Faith, trust and fairy dust!

Are you joking about Tinkerbell?
Or is she real? Thank you xx

[Ophelia Fey says] -- Yes, that was a little joke about Tinkerbell. She is a story of course. However, there are small fae folk (spirits of nature) who would loosely fit the description of what you might call a "pixie" -- if they chose to take on the type of form such as is described in your stories. And certain fae, being mimics, find the name Tinkerbell to be quite delightful, and so have chosen it as a nickname.
