Rain Faeries
by Saille
Ophelia-
Is it really true that faeries take shelter from rain under large leaves? I thought I saw wings under a large leaf in my backyard during a rainstorm. They were shimmery and blue-ish colored.
Ophelia says -- Some faeries do take shelter from rain. But keep in mind, it depends on the types of faeries. And their size. Our bodies are not the same as yours, and so we react to the elements differently. A water faerie would be delighted with rain. They absorb it, as their being is composed largely of watery substance.
Some faeries are very light, diaphanous, more transparent and airy. Rain may be very annoying to them, and with some types, it would actually fall through them. Yet others have a strong forcefield so as the rain comes towards them, it dissipates. Almost like steam. In the case of fire faeries, of course, rain would immediately be transformed into steam. It would not put them "out" so to speak, as water puts out an earthly fire.
Most faeries that you find in gardens and forests and fields who are able to adapt to and inhabit the dimensions of your nature, would seek shelter from rain. They might indeed flit under a large leaf. On the other hand, they may go into a hollow tree, a birdhouse, or under a bush. Or the awning of a mushroom. Or into a tipped over flower pot or urn. Even under the wing of a bird. Faeries can sense changes in weather and would not be taken by surprise by rain.
