Seeing Fairies

Q1. How can I see Fairies?
Q2. How can I make friends with them?

Ophelia says -- You can certainly learn to see fairies. It does take patience and persistence. Fairies must first learn to trust you. Many are very wary of mortals. I am, in fact, going to be sharing many secrets on how to see fairies on another page. But to begin with, here's how.

Don't try too hard. Except for children who still have their natural sense of wonder, you must believe that you will be able to see fairies. Human adults have mostly lost their natural ability to see different frequencies. If that is the case, you must re-train yourself, and it can be done.

As you know, your five senses lie. They miss much. You may know that your eyes and brain take in thousands of bits of information a second, but you only process something like 40. You cannot see radio waves, microwaves or wind, yet you know they are there. Your five senses are programmed -- to pick up what your human brain has trained it to. This can be re-programmed, you might say. You can increase the range of what you see. It just takes practice. For some reason, some people are able to expand their awareness and vision and can see our dimension. I do not know why it is so for some and not others.

Get yourself into a nice quiet, if not meditative, state. Relax your eyes; unfocus them. Everything in all dimensions is made of energy, and all energy vibrates at certain speeds. Fairy energy speeds are faster than mortals are used to seeing. You can think of it as like hummingbird wings. They beat so fast you don't see the actual wing, just the motion of if. Yet, if you could relax your sight into a sort of slow motion, you would see the humming bird differently.

Invite the fairies, either in your mind or aloud, to be with you. They will come, perhaps hesitantly at first. Even though you don't at first see them. You must be persistent and keep asking them and keep trying. Then they will know you are serious and sincere. You will probably feel them before you see them. This is usually the first step.

Create a special space that fairies like. A garden, as you mentioned, is excellent. Indoors, a group of potted plants and flowers. Fairies love delicious scents too. Scented candles, natural perfumed oils (fairies prefer natural things), and baking sweets also attracts them.

You make friends with fairies just like with anyone else. You extend yourself. You give something first; then you will receive something back. You care for them, especially by caring for nature, their environment. Keep your home and garden tidy and clean (or you will attract a different sort of fairy). Maintain love and harmony around you, and you will attract that type of fairy.

We would be delighted for you to see and and to be friends.

Possible Born Ability?
by: Maddy

Ophelia, every since I was a young child everyone would yell at me because I said I could see air. I still can. Like somewhat of dots at all times and brighter areas than others... Does this just mean I'm crazy?

[Ophelia Fey says] -- You are not crazy at all. Actually, I have had this exact same thing written to me by several people. Since the human eyesight is very complicated, it is difficult to know exactly what you are seeing. But here is one possibility...

Since everything is energy, and in its very small form in physics, is particles and waves, it is possible that you have sensitive vision that is able to see the energy which composes things. I know people myself, who have this ability. Mary is one of them. And aside from being a bit nearsighted, there is nothing wrong with her eyes. But she has seen this way since a child. Not all the time, but especially when very relaxed or in a meditative state. So it is very possible that you may indeed have a gift. And when seeing into Faery, that is often how it looks.

Can my cat see fairies?
by: Slain

I mentioned before that I've always been drawn to fairies and nature. I even have a collection of fairy figurines and fairy dust necklaces. On my wall is a large pair of black fairy wings I wore for Halloween one year. They are covered in glitter and very pretty against the light purple (purple's my favorite color) wall.

I have been very upset lately (which I guess if I have a guardian fairy they would be around for me). Lately my 6 month old kitten who has never messed with the wings, and the glitter is not enough to reflect for him to chase, has started climbing up my desk to sit under them. He meows and looks around as if he's watching something and telling me about something I cannot see.

Is it possible I have a fairy who likes the glittery wings and my cat is seeing them? If you could answer this for me I would be most grateful.

[Ophelia Fey says] - Animals see all kinds of things that mortal eyes cannot perceive (and they do sometimes exhibit behavior to try to tell you something), so it is entirely possible that your cat is noticing a being of nature nearby. I cannot say for certain, of course, since I am not there. But what you describe does show the signs of this type of behavior.

Fairy Appearence?
by: Anabel

Ophelia, I have just started trying to see fairies and right now I feel as if I see a lot of energy around me. I`ve been thinking this for as long as I can remember. But when it comes to trying to see fairies, I just see a bright light, like an after-image darting or moving in the corner of my eye. But then when I move my head (without blinking) toward it, I then see nothing there. Is this bad, or will I get better? And if I do, how will I see a fairy? Will I be able to look at it as if its a person? Or is that the wrong imagination I have for it? If you can answer this without being too busy, I would appreciate it and like to say thank you.

[Ophelia Fey says] - No one can predict "how" a person will See or perceive the Unseen world, because this has partly to do with a person's individual consciousness, their own inner vision, and how it is tied into their outer vision. Some people see only lights and vague shapes. Others see very distinct forms.

Compare it to this... You may be familiar with the many books, even TV programs, in which people talk about seeing "angels," and the miraculous ways they have been saved and helped. (I put quotation marks around the word "angel," because it is not necessarily an angelic being that has taken form, but could also have been a being of nature, depending on the circumstances -- but everyone seems to call everything they see "angels," and that is fine). In some of these incidents, people have seen airy or ethereal forms. Or may just sense a presence or see energy, such as you described. Other times, the being appeared to be a regular person. But after the Miraculous Something happened that would have been impossible under normal circumstances, then the person realized it was not a regular human being that had been present. (You can find these books in your book stores.)

I have had many people write in telling about how they see energy, even as if things look like pixels. Well, in a sense they are. Everything in matter is energy, such as waves or particles. And some people, especially when in a relaxed state, can see less boundaries between this energy in its various forms, and thus see the energy states themselves. And since the life forms of nature spirits are also part of the same so-called "energy soup," this is a good start of how they can also be Seen. But this comes more easily when you relax.

So there are various ways a person begins to See, and how they See. It is impossible to tell for each person. But it sounds like you are on your way.

Lights
by: Belle

Hello Ophelia,
I have another question that I've been wandering about. These days I have been connecting with fairies. Just listening to my intuition and feeling what's right. So far I am still not able to see them yet, but sometimes I can feel when they are here. I think I am just starting to learn to see them. I see quite often during the day lights that flash quickly past me, or just in the corner of my eye. There was even this one time I saw one at night in the corner of my room and it stayed for a little longer than a flash and disappeared. I am sure that was a fairy because it left me with such a happy feeling!
Anyway, I just wanted to know what you think about this. Am I starting to see fairies? Thank you, Love Belle

[Ophelia Fey says] - You are very right in beginning to listen to your intuition ans what feels right to You. That is the most important first step you can take. And these other events you describe do very closely fit the possibility of seeing into the dimension of nature spirits. If you are patient and keep practicing, you will become more adept at using your "finer senses."

Noisy surroundings
by: Hana

Hello Ophelia! I'm Hana. I just want to ask you what if the surrounding is noisy. Will you still feel them?

[Ophelia Fey says] - It is a bit more difficult to feel the presence of fairies when everything is always noisy. But it can be done. You just have to learn to close your eyes and shut it all out, and "go within," as people sometimes say. And what about at bed time - is it still all noisy at that time?

5 Senses
by: Tay

How do you re-program your 5 senses? Thanks!

[Ophelia Fey says - Hello Tay. This is a very good question. Your five senses are tied up and connected, of course, to your physical brain and your mind. Your scientists do know now, that your mind can actually be taught to control your senses to a great degree. This is one way that amazing healings can take place, for instance. It is also how people can learn to become intuitive.

To re-program your five senses, you must learn to re-program your mind. This can be done through various means, whatever an individual finds interest in. It can include meditation, for instance. But above all, it is very important to begin to tune out the everyday noise and nonsense that your world bombards you with. (That is why I tell people to take time out from their electronic devices). All this is just "stuff" and although much fun, in the big picture of things, it can bog you down into your outer five senses and hamper your Progress. However, some people prefer to dwell in this manner, and there is nothing "wrong" with it. It will only get you so far though.

Your senses have a very important purpose. But it is not all there is. It is just the tip of the iceberg. The only way to get beyond them is to learn to do so through your Consciousness. You also have finer "senses"; that is, senses of the spirit, so to speak. It is these that you can learn to access. But to access them, you must learn to get past the clutter of the brain and mind. Then eventually when you are used to expanding yourself in your mind or consciousness, you will find that your senses are expanding too. Vision especially seems to respond. Sometimes hearing as well.

There is no one way that I can tell you to re-program your 5 senses, for there are many. If you truly seek to find what is right for you, and you truly desire to do so, then you will find that the right way for you will eventually come to you. There are many programs and many books and many people in your world that know of these things. I know of a few. But there are many. Perhaps this is vague, but there is no one set way for everyone.

I can say, though, that I have come upon an excellent book whereby you will get a good understanding of what I am talking about -- and that is a book by author and physician, Deepak Chopra, M.D., called "The Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire." I highly recommend it.

Private Lessons?
by: Anonymous

Would you ever give private lessons to seeing fairies? Can you send me business cards if so? And please understand I'm not meaning to be rude, but do fairies ever want or need help by humans? The reason why I thought that might be rude is because I want to help, but did not know if that was ok. Hope

[Ophelia Fey says] - Thank you very much for wanting to help us! About private lessons - unfortunately, although it sounds lovely, I would not have time to do this, as I am ever so busy.

We always can use help from mortals though, since we were meant to all work hand in hand. The best way you can help is by taking care of nature, as I may have mentioned, helping animals, and most of all, caring for each other and showing kindness. These things will bring harmony to your world, and therefore to ours as well. And it just may be that this may again thin the veil and make it easier for us to all interact.

Fairies and Barking Dogs
by: lily

Well I just got a dog for Christmas and I love her to death. But I strongly believe in fairies, and she keeps barking out of nowhere, and when she does I feel like something leaves me. Is it a fairy she's barking at?

[Ophelia Fey says] - Hello, Lily. (I have a fairy friend named Lily, who wears lovely red lilies on her hat). Anyway, it is possible your dog is seeing a nature spirit. Many do. However, dogs do sense and hear many other things as well. Plus if it's a puppy, well you know how they are.

So do not be dismayed. It is, after all, all part of nature. You would not believe some of the things that go on in the wild. Well, perhaps you would. So fae are quite familiar with almost all of it. We therefore would not be scared by a barking dog. Perhaps what you are feeling is a bit of your own nervousness. No need. Just relax and enjoy your dog. And if there are fairies around, we certainly will too!

Fairie Sighting!

The other day I was walking out of my room to go downstairs. As I was turning to go down stairs, I looked up and I saw a whitish-gray fuzzy, glowing ball (about the size of my fist). It was moving down from the top of the door. When I stopped it flew down in the direction of my room and hit a stack of papers, sending some flying. Then it was gone. What type of fairy would you guess this was? And what type of things could I do to attract it?

[Ophelia Fey says] - What you saw is not necessarily a fairy. It could have been but there are also other things in the Unseen world as well (as you may know). I do not know for sure what this was exactly. But you would not want to attract anything to you on purpose unless you were quite sure of what it was; and most importantly, the Feel or the "vibe" it had. That is what you must pay attention to, if you see it again. Otherwise, you may follow my guidelines about attracting fairies, assuming you want to attract those who are good.

Is this a sign of winter fairies?
by: Lauren

Hi Ophelia! The other day at my friends house we were meditating, building a fairy house and setting out food. Her dad plays his guitar and her brother the piano. Well getting to the point. We put out all these things out in front of the window and went to bed. When we woke up the food was still there, but there was one single icicle in front of the window ( the only one on the house). And outside her window there is the other side of the house (that side is one floor tall) so the roof is right there under the window. We looked out the window and saw little foot prints in the snow on the roof. Could this be a winter fairy trying to get in the house? Thank you

[Ophelia Fey says] -- Lauren, this is a very charming story. It is very much like fairies would behave when trying to get your attention and thinking that you would not be able to see them yourself. So they leave signs to let you know they are there. It is especially interesting that there was only one icicle - and in that particular place. It would be hard to say what the footprints are without seeing them. Keep in mind that nature spirits do not have the same kind of physical bodies that you do. And since we are basically made of a light energy, leaving footprints that would show up to you, is a bit "iffy." But not impossible if someone were trying to get your attention. It could be done. Winter fairies prefer to stay in their own element - nature outdoors. So they may not have been trying to get inside. However, it is possible that Someone was trying to get your attention! And perhaps they did hear your music as well.

How long will it take for me to see fairies?
by: Elsie

Dear Ophelia
It's been about three weeks and I haven't really seen a fairy, how long do you think it would take?
Thanks Ophelia.

[Ophelia Fey says] -- Three weeks is hardly any time at all. (At least to a fairy). I would like to point out something important, and it is in the Harry Potter books, which I think I mentioned before. Although these are stories of course, they do teach a very good lesson. Patience and practice. You will note that even very talented wizards still had to undergo training and practice -- at a special school no less -- for YEARS!

I will also point out that impatience and being anxious will only build up a sort of wall and make it more difficult to get beyond your five senses. There is no way to tell how long these things take. Seeing into the unseen world differs for each person. So just keep trying. And definitely try to relax about it.

Boy or Girl
by: katie-Anne

Hi Ophelia:

I was just wandering, are there ever boy fairies? Because in many books they are depicted as girls... so is there such thing as boy fairies? I'm so confused. I thought that maybe there isn't such a thing as boy or girl fairies because your bodies are different, meaning that you cannot distinguish the difference between a boy fairy or a girl fairy. thanks.

[Ophelia Fey says] -- Hello Katie-Anne. Yes, there are boy fairies. Nature Spirit bodies are different in what they are made up of. Different substance and elements and energy. But, as with many things in nature, there can be gender. There is a masculine and feminine energy. We also do have fae with no gender at all. But many of us do take on a type of form. And you are correct in that it is often difficult in Faerie to distinguish the difference between boy and girl. Our forms can be quite simple looking. (Although we may go all-out for wings and costumes)! It just depends on the types of fairies and their purpose.

How long will it take to see a fairy? Because I've been trying for... four days and I still haven't seen them. But, just today I think I might've gotten a feeling or sensed them. I can't really explain the feeling, but it was kind of like a shiver but without the shivering bit! If that makes sense! Anyway, how do you know you are 'sensing' them. What's the feeling?
Thank you!

[Ophelia Fey says] -- Everyone experiences this differently. Most people definitely do get a shiver feeling. You are feeling energy. Energy in motion usually. And something unexpected, which causes your brain to send a shiver sensation to your body.

You may know that your eyes and ears process hundreds of thousands of bits of data per minute and second. Way more than your physical brain is able to process. Therefore, your eyes may be actually seeing something, but your brain does not have time to process, so it does not register that you saw something. Especially if that something is unfamiliar.

The brain then sort of skips over that bit of information. Until eventually, with repetition of seeing something new, it will finally register it. But...it does often register another sensation that something did come through the five senses (like sight) -- by means of a shiver feeling.

Other people have felt a light-headed feeling too. Or a slight change in temperature around them. Or even a feeling of nausea. Not that what they saw was "bad." It just affected their physical body.

By the way, four days is a very, very short time to practice seeing fairies. You must give it a minimum of 30 days. That is how long scientifically (at least) it takes for your brain to re-adjust itself.

Fairy Sighting
by: Anonymous

Ophelia-
One time when I was going to sleep, I noticed a speck of light near some beads I have hanging in my room. At first I thought it was just light from the moon reflected in the beads, but then I looked away and the lights seemed to move away from the beads. Then I thought that it may have been a firefly, but the lights never went out. This is the second time I have seen a faerie outside of dreams.

[Ophelia Fey says] -- What you are describing is definitely how fairies often appear. And you may know that fairies are attracted to beads, jewelry, anything sparkly and pretty. They would be fascinated by the beads hanging in your room.

Black Fairy
by: Anonymous

The other day, I was laying in bed and the night light is always on, so it's never too dark. After a while of laying on my back in bed and sometimes closing and opening my eyes when I cannot fall asleep, I saw a black little fairy next to my ceiling fan. The form was that of a female. And once it saw that I noticed her, she began to make her way above, pass my head (so I even tilted my head and neck to see it go); then it disappeared. I never blinked once. Last night I think I saw the same black fairy as I was turning in bed, but its form wasn't as black as before. Her speed at flight was more rapid this time.

I'm wondering why her color is black. Is she a bad fairy? I always say that I want good fairys in my room. I'm a bit hesitant for this one....

[Ophelia says] -- Black does not necessarily mean bad. In the kingdom of Faerie it can mean nobility, perfection, power, secrecy, among other things. The color of this fairy will not necessarily determine if she is good or bad. You will know by her so-called "vibe" and what she does, if anything specific.

My best advice: make sure your own energy is calm, positive, and good before you go to bed. Then those are the types of fairies you will attract to you. Even if you think you are purposefully inviting good fairies to you, if you go to bed angry, dishonest, hurtful, hateful, that is the energy you are putting out, and probably what you will end up attracting. It is your own energy that will do the attracting. Not just your words or ideas about fairies.

When you are used to the presence of fairies, you will get a sense of them. You will be able to really sense their frequency and if they are good or bad.
