Can I talk to a fairy right now?

Ophelia Fey says -- Yes, Marifer, you can talk to fairies right now. Especially if you are in a place where they might be around. Like a garden, forest, beautiful park, or by the water.

You can talk to us in whispers or out loud. (But not too loudly. That may scare us). It seems humans like asking fairies for something. Like granting a wish or doing some kind of magic for them. But why should we. We would have no reason to, unless we have come to know you and trust and like you.

So when you talk to a fairy or want to make friends with a fairy, think of how you would make friends with anyone. You would take interest in them. See what you can do for them. You could, for instance, help take care of nature, which is very important to us, since we live in it and have the job of taking care of it. You would put your friend's needs before your own in many instances. It is the same with us. When we see that a person is caring, we will more easily respond to them.

So when you talk to us, keep these things in mind. Don't just ask us for wishes and magic and doing things for you. Think also of what you can do for us. And do it.

How long do fairies live?

I live in Canada, I am 28. I think magic and wonder are beautiful. My question is do fairies live forever? And do you communicate with them?

[Ophelia Fey says] - It seems as though some fairies live "forever" because they are so very ancient. But that is an exceedingly long time, and nothing in nature, not even nature spirits, lasts that long! And keep in mind, in other dimensions Time is not the same. It is not the same as in the physical plane.

Various fae have various life cycles, depending on their Purpose and the element to which they belong. Some are short, and some are very long. So it is impossible to give a generalization.

And yes, fairies can be communicated with. I've written quite a few things about this.

Where Do Fairies Live?

Do fairies live everywhere on this earth or only some places?

[Ophelia Fey says] - Alanna, nature spirits live where ever there is nature, so just about everywhere! Even in the desert areas, even certain types live in Antarctica, although only a few. We are in cities as well, anywhere there may be a park or garden. And we would visit a home that has a little place set aside for us, especially if there are plants and nature, as well as a fountain and such.

How To Make Fairy Friends?

I've read all of your dear categories. I love them. Just 1 little thing. How exactly can you talk to them? Don't they speak a different language? Can you teach me how to make a friend? Dear how do I keep contact with them.

[Ophelia Fey says] - Hello Syd. You can speak to fairies just like you would speak to anyone. It is highly possible that if there are nature spirits near you on a regular basis, that they will understand your language. Those of us who are close to your world and who interact with it and with you, would be familiar with your ways. Otherwise, yes we do speak a different language. But remember, there is also the language of the heart, you might say. We are highly sensitive to feelings, and so we often can feel what the intentions or message is behind someone's words, although we may not completely understand those words.

You can keep in contact with us by continuing to communicate, by taking care of the nature around you, by making a little place for us in your garden or home. These are all ways to begin making friends. Then it is a matter of training yourself to see. Or at least to feel our presence, which is the first step. I've already written pages and answered questions about this, so perhaps you can read them.

Will They Talk Back?

My name is Lauren and I am 14. I'm doing a lot of research on fairies before I try to attract one. I can't seem to find the answer to this question anywhere: If I speak to fairies will they speak to me? Thank you Ophelia.

[Ophelia Fey says] - Yes, they will speak to you. But whether you can hear them or understand them is another matter. Nature spirits that come around you may not be in tune with your language, unless they have been around humans a lot and are very used to you. But you may not hear their voices with your outer ears. However, you can practice listening with your "inner ears." Your intuition. Your mind. This is how people often hear them. They hear something distinctly being said to them, in their minds. As with angelic beings, some nature spirits are able to change their frequency and take on a somewhat denser form that can be more easily seen and heard. So it depends on what types of fae come around. I would first practice feeling the presence of fairies. When you believe someone is near, then speak to them. And quietly listen for them to respond to you in your mind, first. As with anything new, this will take practice.
