Will Your Fairy Godmother
Find You?
I am Godmother Greta
Perhaps your Fairy Godmother
if you will ask for me.
And I have been sent
from the Kingdom of Faerie.
I understand there are those among mortals
who do wish for a Fairy Godmother.
I am here.
But I must be asked.
Yes, a Fairy Godmother must be requested from the heart.
Obviously, very few humans know this.
Most do not Believe, of course.
And most do not think they need us.
You do, after all, have access to the Creator,
and the great Teachers who have walked your earth.
So why do you need us?
You don’t, really.
A Fairy Godmother, however, is a gift, and a gifted friend,
a mentor and guide.
Do you not have friends? Perhaps many?
And do you then ask, why do I need them?
It is all the same, you see.
Friends are friends, no matter if seen or unseen,
no matter in what dimension or realm.
There have been many legends and myths about Fairy Godmothers.
But unlike in the story of Cinderella,
a real Fairy Godmother does not wave a wand and perform magic.
Rather, we guide you and teach you to listen to your own inner voice.
That is where your real power lies.
Your Fairy Godmother may guide you and guard you, keep you protected.
We may keep you alert and ready.
We may bring opportunity your way.
but you must be able to recognize it.
We may grant a minor wish or two,
but that really lies within the realm of the Wishing Star Fairy,
for whom we work.
The Wishing Star Fairy remains always in the Deep Silence
and never ventures into the realm of mortals.
You must find a way to reach her;
she will not come to you.
But your Fairy Godmother will come near.
A Fairy Godmother is chosen and appointed.
We must complete 100 years of apprenticeship under our mentor.
Then we are tested, and re-tested for many a year.
Finally, we ourselves become mentors and are assigned our own protégés,
our troupe of fairies -- apprentices who follow us everywhere, it seems.
We each have seven.
We may then help other Fey Folk in our realm.
And those of us advanced enough may be sent
into the kingdom of mortals, to those whose hearts
long for their own Fairy Godmother.
I am Godmother Greta.
I am here.
You may ask me to be your Fairy Godmother,
if you wish, and I will answer you.
And I will never leave you. I will stay with you always.
Yes, I do care for many, it is true. That is my gift.
And you, too, will be very special to me.
